How do I start a begonia from a cutting?

My begonia has one stalk, and it is getting tall (overbalancing the pot) and the leaves are huge. I understand I can start one from a cutting, but the last time I tried, it did not work. Any suggestions?

Begonias are propagated from leaf cuttings Remove the petiole (the leaf stem) from the leaf. Then make small cuts in the main veins on the underside of the leaf. Dush with a little rooting hormone and lay the leaf, cut side down, on your growing medium and keep moist but not real wet. Good medium could be sand or peat/perlite mix. New plants will form at each cut.

Good luck.
