I have a lovely begonia in my garden, is it posible to take cuttings from it?

Oh, absolutely! Begonias are very easy to propagate from stem or leaf cuttings!

"To propagate using a stem cutting, a piece of the stem is selected, usually four or five nodes long. The stem is cut off just below a node and inserted into the potting mix, covering at least two nodes. It is best to leave a small leaf at the top of the cutting; or cut a large top leaf in half, or even smaller."

Reply:yes, of course
Reply:THEY ROOT IN WATER IN NO TIME. THE CUTTINGS WILL ALSO KEEP YOUR BEGONIAS FROM GETTINGS TOO TALL AND SPINDLY LOOKING. IF THEY ARE FAIRLY PROTECTED OUTSIDE, IN THE SOUTH THEY WILL COME BACK UP AGAIN THE NEXT YEAR.
Reply:Yes but winter them inside but watch out for greenfly if they start to get infected use a good quality spray.

Hope this helps.
Reply:yes it is, but then you will have winter it somewhere, they are not hardy
Reply:Begonias are very easy. Root in water or dip in rooting compound and stick it it sterile potting soil, vemiculite or perlite. Place it in a cool shady place for a couple weeks and plant or repot. RScott
