I think they will do much better with more shade. Try sun till about 10 or 11 am . You can move them to a shadier spot after that if you plant them in a container. I think the noon time and after sun is to strong for them.
Can I grow tuberous begonias on a sunny patio?
I have seen them growing in full sun, but that was in the coastal areas of NSW. Best in semi shade.
